The kind of sweater that makes you wish you knew exactly where it spent the last sixty years.

This vintage Manchester Cheerblock sweater dates to the 1960s and feels like it came straight out of an old high school yearbook. Bright red knit, a classic V-neck, white collegiate lettering, and a tiny cheerleader graphic across the chest. Simple, perfectly old-school, and full of character.

I picture this one on a cool Friday night, sitting on cold metal bleachers with stadium lights overhead, a thermos somewhere nearby, and everyone bundled up because nobody was leaving before the final whistle.

Made from a 50% Creslan acrylic and 50% rayon blend, it has that wonderfully different hand and drape you find in older knits. The silhouette is especially good. Although the original tag reads Small, this measures approximately 30 inches pit to pit, giving it a dramatically roomy, relaxed shape by modern standards.

This is exactly what Elwood Vintage Staples is about. The pieces that have already survived decades of changing trends and somehow still look right with a pair of worn-in jeans today.
